Howard County Unsweetened (hocounsweetened.org) and The Better Beverage Finder (betterbevfinder.org) are the main components of a campaign in Howard County , Maryland [designed by Salter Mitchell] to reduce the amount of sugary drinks that residents purchase and consume. HoCo Unsweetened provides parents with a resource that explains portion sizes and gives tips and ideas for alternatives to the drinks they are used to reaching for. The Better Beverage Finder provides tools to easily find better for you beverages in all drink categories. One of the tools is the Switch The Drink tool (switchthedrink.org) which allows you to type in the name of your favorite drink and the site will tell you if you are already drinking a better beverage or if you could make a less sugary choice and provides alternatives options based on your current favorite drink.
